Circle C Community Center and Pool
Austin, TX
Project Description:
The community center is a steel structure with a standing seam roof, stone exterior, wood soffits, and accents. The interior space is a combination of a resident lobby entrance, offices, and meeting spaces. The exterior is an integrated porch, lawn, and pool experience. The pool is designed with families in mind with a shoreline entrance for young kids, a big curly slide, volleyball space, and a deeper end with pods for adult hangouts. Burnished CMU block and steel provide a space for restrooms and changing spaces. The lot is in the middle of the residential south end of Circle C with lots of trees. The site is in the Edwards Aquifer sensitive recharge zone with karst rock accents. A detention and reirrigation system was implemented to prevent runoff and comply with city requirements.
